Why is there a fee for bench?

bench was started to allow concerned consumers to actively save our planet we contribute the 1% of value of each transaction that would normally come to us to saving forest. So we simply need to charge a small fee to keep the service running. We believe the unique features of our website, apps and card provide our community with the flexibility and convenience to manage their money and help stop climate change and catastrophic biodiversity loss. For us, this makes the $4.97 monthly fee great value for money, and this is just the beginning.  

If we need to charge for something it’s because we are charged a fee and we need to pass it through to you..

However, where we can, we keep banking charges as low as possible and waive others. We work to keep the monthly membership cost to a bare minimum. 

How is the monthly membership charge paid?

The monthly membership fee will be taken from your balance if the funds are available.  

In the event that there is not enough money on your account to cover the membership fee, we will retrieve them from the card attached to your account. With bench there are no commitments as you can cancel at anytime. 

However, if you spend just $100 with our loyalty/cashback partners your membership fee will be offset by the cashbacks you receive.

How do I refer a friend?

Log into your bench mobile app or website account and select ‘Refer a friend’ from the menu
Choose how you’d like to share your unique link with your friends; by SMS, email, Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Messenger and many more.
Ask your friend to sign up via the link provided – the promotion will not be applied otherwise! 

What do I get if I refer a friend?

When you sign up for bench, we’ll create an account for you; you will all have a unique login to the service. Signing up takes 4 minutes and you’ll receive the cards in less than a week. 

Setting limits
Once you’ve received the card, and activate it via the bench app. Here, you’ll be able to set spending budget limits, make payments and transfers. If you have an existing bank account you can also set up an auto-top-up or a fixed weekly or monthly transfer from it to make it convenient for you. You can also instantly block the card if your child misplaces it, and retrieve the PIN in case it’s forgotten.

How do I put money into my bench account?

Adding money to your bench account using your existing bank account will instantly add the funds to the account. To do this, you’ll need to log in on the website or mobile app and then click XXXXX on the XXXXXpage. Once you’ve confirmed the amount, click make payment to complete the top up.
